The kingdom of Darkness

The kingdom of darkness is simply the rulership of Satan through demonic host in the hearts of men to bring about his will on the earth. This kingdom is;

Darkness is an emblem of ignorance, misery, and sin; and no description could be more accurate than that of representing these malignant spirits as ruling over a dark world through men. The earth - dark, and wretched, and ignorant, and sinful - is just such a dominion as they would choose, or as they would cause; and the degradation and woe of the heathen world are just such as foul and malignant spirits would delight in. It is a wide and a powerful empire. It has been strengthened by ages; it is sustained by all the authority of law; by all the omnipotence of the perverted religious principle; by all the reverence for ancient times; by all the power of selfish, corrupt, and base passions. No empire has been so extended, or has continued so long, as that empire of darkness; and nothing on earth is so difficult to destroy.

There are powers that hold you to be ignorant about the great light of Christ which illuminate from the Gospel, there are others also who dilute the word of God in your heart in such a way that if it was a poison it couldn’t hurt at all, so that, although knowing the truth, you will still compromise on it, and it will not have any impact on your life. In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. Eph 2:2-3

All those that are in this kingdom are in bondages and are been manipulated so that they can never see or accept the great light that shines for all, they walk and do their things like the blind; because they are blind indeed.

"And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

Fruits Of The Kingdom



As there is for the Kingdom of God “fruit of the Spirit”, so it is in the kingdom of darkness “fruit of darkness”. In the kingdom of Satan , the fruit of darkness is the work of the flesh; which include: Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like Those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Gal 5:19-21

If you are happily indulging in any kind of these acts, then you must know you are really producing the fruit of the kingdom of darkness, and heaven wouldn’t be yours if you don’t repent.

The Effects Of This Kingdom



The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10

The kingdom of darkness is the cause of all evil or everything that is contrary to the will of God on this earth. This kingdom is against every aspect of the Church’s evangelism, missions, intercession, worship, charity; against jobs, finances, marriages. It causes poverty, depressions that lead to committing suicide; they hinder prayers and studying the word of God. They also manipulate people to be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, uncontrolled lust, fierce, despisers of those that are good; traitors, impetuous/violence, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; those that are having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. They cause all these so that the earth would experience an uncontrollable perilous times. Unless the demonic realm is properly dealt with, people can never experience the breakthrough they are looking for, and they shall continue to fall into the pit of hell.

Jesus Overcame The Kingdom Of Darkness



In the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, he completely subdued our enemy by his death. A complete victory was achieved, so that everything is now in subjection to him, and we have nothing to fear. The formidable enemies that had held man in subjection, and prevented his serving God, Jesus has declared them to be powerless as to His work and His people. He wrested the dominion from them, and seized upon what they had captured as a conqueror seizes upon his prey. Satan and his legions had invaded the earth, and drawn its inhabitants into captivity, and subjected them to their evil reign. Christ, by his death, subdues the invaders, and recaptures those whom they had subdued.

These are what came out of his sacrifice on the cross:

1. He has given us spiritual life
2. He has forgiven us all our trespasses;
3. He has blotted out or abolished the "ordinances" that were against us; and
4. He has triumphed over all our foes that we should not be made captive or subdued by any of the rights of superstition, or any of the influences of the kingdom of darkness.

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. John 19:30a, Col 2:15

Christianity And The Kingdom Of Darkness


Christianity is a threat to the kingdom of darkness, as well as the kingdom of darkness to Christianity. They are enemies. Satan and his hosts are really to make Christian’s life on earth very difficult and lead many to hell. Thanks be to God almighty who sent His Son to come and destroy the works of the devil so that we may be free from slavery to sin and all sort of bondages.

... For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1Jo 3:8

So now, Jesus has given us that authority to continue overcoming this kingdom and deliver all those that are oppressed by them. If we are going to learn our rights and authorities as Christians and start using them, Christians on earth would always be a nightmare to the kingdom of Satan; but if we are going to be sleeping Christians then Satan has nothing to worry about because he has already defeated us in advance. 

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Lu 10:19

Therefore, as Christians, it is our responsibility to destroy the kingdom of darkness and set the prisoners free. Whether you like it or not, you are an enemy on the battlefront, you either fight and win the battle or you lose and are captured to be torched by forces that understand nothing about love and mercy but fierce and brutality. They are so brutal. The only language they understand is destruction; you destroy them or they destroy you. Since we are the light and hope of the world, let us not quit; let us not be silent at all. The world at large is perishing in darkness without hope. Arise Christians on earth, be on your feet and let us conquer and save the prisoners of hope that they likewise may find the hidden treasure; "The Golden City."

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee. Zech 9:11-12
